According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, German heavyweights Bayern Munich have joined the hunt for RB Leipzig player Dani Olmo, who is also on Barcelona’s agenda and list. Olmo would be an excellent addition to the Bavarian powerhouse, which lost the Bundesliga to Bayer Leverkusen this season.
Furthermore, it has been found that the Spanish forward has a €60 million release clause that can be exercised this summer. Bayern appears to have that type of financial backing, but Barcelona look to be relatively restricted in terms of their spending allowance, which could hold them back if they decide to participate in any kind of bidding war.
Other English Premier League clubs are apparently interested in Olmo’s services. However, it is safe to anticipate that Bayern and Barcelona will have to compete directly for his signature.
However, given the price tag linked to the Bundesliga star, it may be tough to envision Barcelona defeating the Bavarians in such a match. Furthermore, with Barcelona more keen in signing a top-tier pivot, that would remain their first choice when it comes to committing large sums of money. Only after that would they try to fortify the frontline, with Nico Williams rumored to be their ideal candidate.
