On Thursday, incoming Real Madrid star Endrick gave an insight into the process that led to him signing a contract with Los Blancos.
Frontman Endrick is expected to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side in Madrid this summer.
As much comes after the Santiago Bernabéu board sealed a big-money contract to sign him in 2022, with the attacker subsequently continuing his development on loan in his home country with Palmeiras.
Despite his young age, Endrick is already regarded as one of football’s upcoming superstars, with the potential to light up Spanish football for years to come thanks to his equally excellent technical and athletic abilities.
Prior to his formal move to Real Madrid, the 17-year-old was touted as a target for a slew of other clubs around Europe.
In an interview with Diario AS on Thursday, Endrick was asked about his decision to reject down interest from other clubs, especially Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
And the Brazilian international went on to admit that, in truth, there was no choice because Real Madrid had long been set as his ‘ideal’ landing spot:
“It was not a choice. Madrid was always a fantasy. I didn’t have to pick anything. I just accomplished a dream.”
