Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool’s interest in Teun Koopmeiners will be clarified after Arne Slot’s meeting with the club’s directors.
Liverpool has been linked with Koopmeiners, who played under Slot at AZ Alkmaar, and there are claims that Atalanta might allow the midfielder to leave this summer.
Romano told CaughtOffside, “There are links with Liverpool, but Koopmeiners is a priority target for Juventus.
Let’s see what happens at Liverpool, but my information is that nothing is concrete yet. We will know more after Arne Slot meets with the club’s new directors.”
Koopmeiners, a Europa League winner, has been with Atalanta since 2021.
Outside of Liverpool’s preferred age profile
Liverpool generally targets players under 25, like last summer’s signings Alexis Mac Allister (24), Dominik Szoboszlai (22), and Ryan Gravenberch (21).
At 26, Koopmeiners might be an exception if Slot desires a reunion, though Liverpool may not have room for him given their need for a world-class No. 6.
