Benjamin Sesko is reportedly favoring a move to Arsenal this summer. The RB Leipzig striker has caught the attention of multiple clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, as well as several Italian teams.
However, Arsenal seems to be the frontrunner for the £45 million-rated forward, with the Slovenian international preferring a move to the Emirates Stadium despite the fierce competition in the transfer market.
This news comes as a significant boost for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who is looking to sign a young striker to complement Kai Havertz, who had an impressive season for the Gunners.
Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has been spotted at Arsenal matches this season, further indicating the player’s interest in the club. Sesko, who will turn 21 on Friday, is seen as an ideal fit for Arsenal’s squad.
Although Sesko has only been with RB Leipzig for a year, the club is open to selling him this summer if a suitable deal can be reached.
Sesko joined the Red Bull network in 2019 when he signed with Red Bull Salzburg. His strong goal-scoring record and towering height of 6ft 5in make him a standout talent.
He is also part of Slovenia’s squad for the upcoming Euros, where they will face England in the group stages in Germany this summer.
Arsenal has been keeping a close eye on Sesko throughout the season, though he is not their only target. The Gunners have also shown interest in Ajax’s Brian Bobbey and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.
However, they have ruled out Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak as potential signings.
