Reason why 19-year-old Man United midfielder Omari Forson midfielder is set to leave Manchester United on this summer

Sports Invest UK is the agency responsible for representing the promising young footballer Forson. This agency is managed by Kia Joorabchian, a well-known figure in the football world, particularly for his role in orchestrating Carlos Tevez’s high-profile departure from Manchester United. Forson made a notable move from the Tottenham academy to Manchester United in 2019, a transition that showcased his potential and ambition. Despite this, there is speculation about his potential return to the south of England, where he originally hails from. This speculation is fueled by internal sources at Manchester United who have pointed to a burgeoning pool of academy talent ready to step into Forson’s position. Among these promising talents are Shea Lacey, Jack Fletcher, and Sam Mather, each making significant strides in their development.

The day before a crucial match against Fulham at Old Trafford, Manchester United faced a setback when Rasmus Hojlund sustained a muscular injury. This unexpected development led to Forson being selected to start the match over Antony, a high-profile player acquired for £86 million. However, Forson’s lack of experience was evident, and he was subsequently substituted by Christian Eriksen shortly into the second half. Despite these challenges, Forson has been utilized as a substitute in several high-stakes matches, including encounters with Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as in the FA Cup semifinals. Unfortunately, these sporadic appearances have not been enough to convince Forson to commit to a new contract with Manchester United. Despite the high regard in which he is held by academy coaches and the positive impression he has made on manager Erik ten Hag, Forson has been contemplating his future and exploring other opportunities for over six months.

Erik ten Hag’s efforts to integrate Forson into the first team have so far been unsuccessful, leading to the likelihood that United will be entitled to compensation if he transfers to another club. Forson’s journey with the senior team began during the preseason tour of the United States in the summer of 2017. His official debut came when Ten Hag included him in the FA Cup match against Wigan Athletic in January, where he substituted for Marcus Rashford in extra time, thus becoming the 249th academy player to debut for Manchester United. Following this debut, Forson was given additional opportunities to prove himself. He made a substitute appearance in the dramatic 4-3 Premier League victory against Wolves and featured again in the next round of the FA Cup against Newport County.

One of Forson’s standout moments came when he assisted Kobbie Mainoo in scoring the decisive goal at Molineux. This performance earned him a surprise full Premier League debut a few weeks later in a match against Fulham on February 24. Despite these opportunities and moments of promise, Forson’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain. The club is closely monitoring his situation as they continue to develop their other academy talents, while Forson weighs his options in pursuit of a path that will best fulfill his professional aspirations.
