Everton are considering Victor Lindelof as a potential replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite. Recently, news emerged that Manchester United had agreed on personal terms with the 21-year-old Everton center-back for a summer transfer. United reportedly made an initial bid of £45 million for the England international, but it is expected to be rejected by Everton.
Despite this, reports suggest that Manchester United remains confident that the transfer will be completed by the end of the month, even though Everton has stated they will only sell for a hefty fee of £80 million. Everton has been exploring replacement options, with Northern Ireland’s Dan Ballard being discussed. However, recent reports indicate that their primary defensive target might actually facilitate United’s acquisition of Branthwaite.
According to HITC, Everton has identified potential replacements for Branthwaite, who is nearing a move to Manchester United. One player Everton has previously targeted is Victor Lindelof, with Manchester United open to letting the Swedish defender leave Old Trafford this summer. Lindelof has had an inconsistent season at United, and with the club closing in on Branthwaite, he may feel it is the right time to move on.
Additionally, HITC reports that Everton is also interested in Hull City’s Jacob Greaves. The 24-year-old is one of several names on Everton’s list of potential defensive recruits.
