According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United has finally won the race over Liverpool and Manchester City to get an extraordinary defender who is worth sixty million pounds. The signing of the player has been approved, the paperwork has been completed, and the medical tests are scheduled to begin this coming Friday.

The club has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the central defender, although the initial asking price of £80 million had raised some concerns.

According to the latest information from FT, Branthwaite is on the verge of finalizing his transfer to Manchester United.

The negotiations between the Red Devils and Everton have progressed significantly, with the Merseyside club now open to offers in the range of £50 million to £60 million.

However, they are aiming for a total package worth £65 million when performance objectives and add-ons are included.

Everton stands to make a substantial profit from this sale, having signed Branthwaite from Carlisle for just £1 million back in 2020.

The young defender has since demonstrated his potential, particularly during a successful loan spell with Dutch Eredivisie team PSV Eindhoven in the 2022-23 season, followed by an impressive performance in the Premier League last season.

Manchester United are set to acquire a promising talent in Branthwaite, who is anticipated to be a strong candidate to eventually replace Raphael Varane in the team’s defense.

Strengthening the backline is a priority for the club, and bringing in the English starlet would represent a significant step forward for United under the guidance of Ratcliffe. The deal is expected to be finalized before the end of the current month.
