According To The Italian Publication Il Roma, Arsenal Have Reportedly Had Discussions Over A Deal To Sign Napoli Striker Victor Osimhen This Summer. In An Attempt To Strengthen Their Attack, The Gunners Have Discussed A Summer Move With The Agents Of Napoli Forward Victor Osimhen. Arsenal Open Talks To Sign World Class Striker Worth €130m.

According to the Italian publication Il Roma, Arsenal have reportedly engaged in talks to secure Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. Last season, Arsenal fell short in both the Premier League and the Champions League, prompting the club to seek new additions to bolster their chances for the upcoming season. To strengthen their attacking options, the Gunners have initiated discussions with Osimhen’s representatives.

The report indicates that while Paris Saint-Germain is monitoring the player, they have yet to make a formal move. Chelsea, who were previously interested, appear to have withdrawn from the race. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has noted that Osimhen’s contract with Napoli includes a €130 million release clause. Napoli aims to receive a fee in this range, which could pose a financial challenge for Arsenal.

Since his transfer from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020, Osimhen has netted an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances, establishing himself as one of the premier forwards in world football. In the 2021-2022 season, Osimhen played a pivotal role in ending Napoli’s 33-year Serie A title drought by scoring 31 goals in 39 matches. His attributes include speed, strength, aerial ability, and a natural goal-scoring instinct, making him a highly coveted asset.

With Benjamin Sesko committing to a new contract with RB Leipzig, Arsenal’s search for a striker continues. Besides Osimhen, the Gunners have shown interest in other forwards such as Joshua Zirkzee, Viktor Gyokeres, and Alexander Isak. Osimhen stands out as one of the best options available, though the pursuit is expected to be expensive. Additionally, interest from Middle Eastern clubs may drive up the cost further.

Arsenal are poised to be active in the transfer market as they aim to enhance their squad for a successful campaign next season.
