Chelsea have agreed to a £19 million transfer deal for Aston Villa teenager Omari Kellyman, marking their second signing of the summer.
The 18-year-old England Under-19 international is set to discuss personal terms with Chelsea, which are expected to be easily settled, before undergoing a medical examination. Kellyman is likely to sign a five- or six-year contract upon agreement.
Kellyman, who has made six first-team appearances for Aston Villa, including two in the Premier League last season, is poised to join Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca. This follows the recent free transfer of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham and an agreement with Palmeiras for wonderkid Estevao Willian, who will join next summer.
The move for Kellyman coincides with Aston Villa agreeing to a £37.5 million deal for Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen. Maatsen, a Netherlands left-back, is set to finalize personal terms for his transfer to Villa Park. Borussia Dortmund had also been interested in making Maatsen’s season-long loan permanent but could not meet Chelsea’s financial demands.
