Liverpool Are Proposing A Shock Swap Deal That Would See Trent Alexander-Arnold Move To The Bernabeu And Rodrygo To Merseyside. Liverpool Propose Shock Swap Deal To Sign £85million Star

Liverpool are reportedly orchestrating a surprising swap deal to acquire Brazilian international Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

According to Spanish outlet Nacional, Liverpool are looking to leverage the uncertain situation surrounding Rodrygo. With Real Madrid recently confirming the signing of Kylian Mbappe and the arrival of Endrick, Rodrygo could face reduced playing time. In response, Liverpool are eager to secure the South American’s services, though his high price tag presents a challenge.

The Catalan media source indicates that Real Madrid values Rodrygo at over €100 million (£85 million). To offset this cost, Liverpool are proposing a swap deal involving Trent Alexander-Arnold, who would move to the Bernabeu in exchange for Rodrygo. Alexander-Arnold, who was named Liverpool’s vice-captain last year, has not yet signed a new contract. Consequently, Liverpool aim to sell him to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year and to finance Rodrygo’s acquisition.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is interested in Alexander-Arnold as a replacement for veteran right-back Dani Carvajal. Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Arne Slot needs a long-term successor for Mohamed Salah, and Rodrygo would be an excellent addition. However, Slot must also retain key players, and Alexander-Arnold is undoubtedly one of them.
