Manchester United have always wanted him to come at Old Trafford. This could be an easy pull for both parties”

Greenwood’s future at Manchester United has been in limbo for over two years. Arrested in January 2022 on charges of attempted rape and assault, the young English forward denied the allegations, and the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February 2023. Following an internal investigation, United loaned Greenwood to Spanish club Getafe for the 2023-24 season, where he excelled, scoring ten goals and providing six assists, earning the title of Getafe’s Player of the Season.

Despite his impressive performance, United’s £42 million asking price for Greenwood has deterred potential buyers, including Getafe. Juventus, however, remain interested but are reportedly unwilling to meet this price. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club might propose a swap deal, offering attacker Federico Chiesa in exchange for Greenwood.

Chiesa, whose contract with Juventus expires in 2025, has yet to commit to a new deal. Any decision about his future will be made after Euro 2024, following a meeting between Juventus and Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani. Although Juventus would prefer to retain Chiesa, the final decision will depend on the player.

Additionally, Lazio, another Serie A club, has shown interest in Greenwood, providing Manchester United with another potential avenue for offloading the 22-year-old forward.
