New Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is reportedly “very interested” in signing Arda Guler, the young talent from Real Madrid and Turkey. Guler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce last summer but faced a challenging first season in Spain, with injuries limiting him to just 12 appearances across all competitions. Despite these setbacks, the 19-year-old showcased his talent in Turkey’s Euro 2024 opener against Georgia, scoring in their 3-1 victory.
Reports from Spain suggest that Slot is keen on bringing Guler to Anfield. Estadio Deportivo claims that Slot views Guler as an “important piece” of his project at Liverpool. Although Guler has five years remaining on his contract with Real Madrid, Team Talk reports that the La Liga and European champions are open to allowing him to leave on loan this summer if a suitable offer comes in.
However, Liverpool faces competition for Guler’s signature. Real Sociedad, another La Liga club, is also reportedly interested in the versatile forward.
Real Madrid has strengthened their squad this summer by signing Kylian Mbappe and already have an array of attacking talents including Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo. Interestingly, Rodrygo has also been linked with a potential move to Liverpool this summer.
