Erik ten Hag has finally addressed the situation surrounding Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United. The 24-year-old winger returned to the club after his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, following a period of exile due to a public fallout with Ten Hag. The Dutch manager had criticized Sancho’s training performances, which led to Sancho’s retaliatory social media posts and his subsequent exclusion from the first team. However, it seems that the two have reconciled, with Ten Hag now eager to move past the incident.
“Manchester United need good players, and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on,” Ten Hag stated after United’s 1-0 defeat by Rosenborg. Although Sancho was not part of the squad that traveled to Trondheim for the match, he has resumed training and appears to have resolved his differences with the manager.
The reconciliation has eased fears that Sancho might seek a permanent move away from the club. Ten Hag emphasized the importance of performance standards and fitness, noting that while pre-season results are not the primary focus, maintaining high standards is crucial for a club like Manchester United.
United are currently in pre-season preparations and will face Rangers at Murrayfield before heading to the United States.
