Official Announcement: Luka Modrić renewal

Real Madrid C.F. and Luka Modrić have agreed to extend our captain’s contract until 30 June 2025. Modrić joined Real Madrid in 2012, and over his twelve seasons with the club, he has become a revered figure in both Real Madrid and global football. During his tenure, Modrić has secured an impressive tally of 26 titles with Real Madrid, including 6 Champions League trophies, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 La Ligas, 2 Copa del Rey titles, and 5 Spanish Super Cups. He stands as one of only five players to have achieved 6 European Cups, holding the record for the most titles in our club’s history.

On a personal level, Modrić’s accolades include winning the Ballon d’Or, FIFA Player of the Year, and UEFA Player of the Year awards in 2018. He has been named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI on six occasions and twice received recognition as the Champions League’s Best Midfielder. Modrić has also earned a Ballon d’Or and a Silver Ball at the Club World Cup. Internationally, he claimed the Golden Ball at the 2018 World Cup and the Bronze Ball at the 2022 World Cup with the Croatian national team.

Modrić has contributed significantly to Real Madrid, making 534 appearances and scoring 39 goals. He remains a vital player for Croatia, having participated in 178 matches and holding the all-time record for international caps.
