Barcelona could have an opportunity to sign 19-year-old former target this summer

In an unexpected twist, Youssoufa Moukoko’s representative, Patrick Williams, has disclosed that the young Borussia Dortmund forward is considering opportunities with other teams.

Despite being only 19, Moukoko has had difficulty securing a regular position in Dortmund’s main squad. Although he extended his contract in 2023, he is now seeking a transfer. Williams criticized Dortmund for not fulfilling their promises to Moukoko.

“Youssoufa was promised many things before he signed, but these were not delivered,” Williams said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

“He is often depicted negatively in the media, regardless of his performance in training or this season. He simply wants to play, and if given the chance, he would have no issues.”

Williams also mentioned that, due to this situation, they are looking for opportunities elsewhere for Moukoko and are open to offers from English, Spanish, and French clubs.

“It’s well-known that many clubs are interested in Youssoufa’s talents… and want him,” Williams added.

“We are currently exploring interest from teams in England, Spain, and France.”

As for Barcelona, there is a connection to consider. Moukoko, previously a target for the club, presents an appealing opportunity for Barcelona.

Given his age and potential, he could fill a possible gap if Vitor Roque, who is not favored at Barcelona and might be sold for a significant fee, leaves the club. Even though Barcelona plans to reinvest Roque’s transfer fee, his departure could leave a need for new attacking options, with Robert Lewandowski as the only natural number 9.

Barcelona might find a chance to acquire Moukoko at a reduced price due to his current situation and desire to leave. His market value is €22 million, but his eagerness to move might allow Barcelona to negotiate a more favorable deal.

Thus, Moukoko’s potential transfer could attract attention from top European clubs, including Barcelona. His agent’s comments suggest that Moukoko is keen for more playing time and a new beginning, making him a valuable addition for Barcelona if Roque departs, while allowing the club to strengthen its attack cost-effectively.
