Does FC Barcelona still have the advantage? Here’s how the race for Dani Olmo is going

FC Barcelona is fully engaged in securing Dani Olmo, while they wait for Nico Williams’ decision. The club is aiming to add both players to their roster for the upcoming season. The competition for Dani Olmo has narrowed to FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with the Blaugrana currently in a favorable position. Olmo, from Terrassa, appears eager to join Hansi Flick and contribute to his tactical plans. Flick is enthusiastic about Olmo’s potential fit for his strategies.

Although FC Barcelona is not yet negotiating for the RB Leipzig midfielder, both the club and the player are optimistic about reaching an agreement for the transfer, which is valued at 60 million euros by Leipzig. Despite the Spaniard’s release clause expiring on July 20, Leipzig is holding firm on their price. However, if Olmo insists on leaving, things might change since he had previously renewed his contract to prevent a free transfer this summer. Barcelona will delay any transfer decisions until they finalize the situation with Nico Williams.

Olmo is currently on vacation, awaiting a potential offer from Barcelona, which might come in the next few weeks. He is determined to join Barcelona and is not interested in other offers. His decision to leave Bayern Munich was influenced by his desire to return to his previous club, despite Bayern’s general manager Max Eberl having prioritized him and being willing to meet his release clause. However, Barcelona’s interest has disrupted Bayern’s plans.

Other interested clubs include Arsenal and Manchester City. Mikel Arteta sees Olmo as a valuable addition for next season, and Pep Guardiola also admires him. Yet, neither club has made a formal offer, making it likely that Olmo will eventually join Barcelona.
