Bayern Munich join Barcelona in pursuit of €70 million-rated PSG ace

Bayern Munich has entered the race alongside Barcelona to secure the services of PSG’s Xavi Simons, who is valued at around €70 million.

Xavi Simons, currently on loan at RB Leipzig, is attracting significant interest from top clubs including Barcelona, who have long been keen on the 21-year-old former La Masia player. RB Leipzig is also eager to retain him for the rest of the season.

Now, Bayern Munich has joined Barcelona and other major teams in the bid to sign Simons for the upcoming season. Simons has had a standout season with RB Leipzig, contributing to 25 goals in all competitions. However, with Kylian Mbappe set to leave PSG, Simons may not be part of the squad for the next campaign.

The situation is further complicated by PSG’s asking price of approximately €60–70 million for a permanent transfer. Consequently, both Bayern Munich and Barcelona are likely to consider negotiating a loan deal.

Simons has expressed a strong desire to return to Barcelona. However, Barcelona’s financial issues pose a challenge, especially if PSG prefers a permanent transfer. To secure Simons, Barcelona will need to act swiftly, as Bayern Munich is also pursuing him.
