Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has expressed his admiration for a key player in Barcelona’s attacking lineup.
This comes as Guardiola’s City team is set to face Barcelona in a friendly match later this week.
In their first game of the pre-season tour in the USA, the teams will compete in a highly anticipated friendly in Orlando early Wednesday morning. Although several prominent players from both teams will be missing due to extended summer breaks, many notable names are expected to play at Camping World Stadium.
One such player is Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to take on a significant role under new manager Hansi Flick in Barcelona this season.
In a pre-match press conference earlier today, Guardiola was asked about Lewandowski. The former Barcelona coach took the chance to praise Lewandowski, stating:
“Robert? I’ve worked with him and know exactly what he can do on the field. I’ve never seen anyone like him before. He once scored five goals in nine minutes, which seems impossible. When he gets the ball in the box, he’s a real threat. He’s an exceptional player, and I hope he has a great season.”
