Jurgen Klopp is currently taking a well-earned rest from the constant pressures of football management, but he has committed to returning to the sport when the moment is appropriate. The 57-year-old decided to resign as Liverpool manager earlier this year, emphasizing the necessity of a break after 23 continuous years in coaching with minimal downtime.
There has been considerable speculation about Klopp possibly stepping into the England managerial position following Gareth Southgate’s resignation after Euro 2024. However, Klopp has clarified that he intends to remain away from football for at least a year to fully recharge. When questioned about this specific opportunity, Klopp stated at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg: “It would be the greatest loss of face in football history if I said, ‘I’ll make an exception for you.’ I recognize how fortunate I am in this situation.
“There are many managers here, and the situation where the phone constantly rings and you can go anywhere is a rare fortune. But this is not the right time to reach out to me.”
“I will engage in some other activities. I’m too young to merely play padel tennis and spend time with my grandchildren.
“Will it be coaching again? I would actually exclude that possibility for now. We’ll see what happens in a few months. Currently, nothing is materializing.”
