Guardiola wants to sign the Real Madrid star in the current Mercato

In recent times, Real Madrid and Manchester City have vied to secure emerging talents, and now they are contending over a new agreement. This competition extends beyond just the field, with Real Madrid frequently outmaneuvering Pep Guardiola’s side both on and off the pitch.

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Real Madrid’s proposal to extend Lunin’s contract remains on the table, but the player has not yet communicated his choice to the club’s management. He did, however, recently state publicly that he will announce his decision soon.

The newspaper further noted that Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese player’s agent, is in discussions with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City’s management about moving his client to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Marca added that Real Madrid is eager to learn Lunin’s final decision promptly to allow time to find a suitable replacement. Several goalkeepers might be interested in a backup role behind Thibaut Courtois, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is favored by both Real Madrid and its supporters.

Additionally, Manchester City is considering offering 25 million euros to Real Madrid to acquire the Ukrainian player, a sum that Perez might accept if Lunin decides to depart.
