Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory with goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho. Kai Havertz scored for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Nearly 30 minutes into the match, Liverpool experimented with a new corner tactic.
As Kostas Tsimikas prepared to take the corner, Liverpool players clustered together on the edge of the area before dispersing into different positions. The ball landed for Curtis Jones, but his shot was thwarted by the referee’s foul call on the Arsenal goalkeeper.

He continued: “In the second half, Arsenal controlled possession, but we defended excellently, with many bodies behind the ball whenever they approached our area. They didn’t create significant chances in the second half.”
Slot added: “In the first half, after the initial 10 minutes, it was an even game where both teams could have scored more. I’m satisfied with our first-half performance and how we defended in the second half.”
Liverpool will return to the field this weekend against Manchester United at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
