Liverpool defender Luke Chambers has secured a loan transfer to League One club Wigan Athletic for the upcoming season.
The 20-year-old’s temporary move was confirmed by the team, which stated, “Chambers will be with Wigan Athletic for the season, following a productive period with the Latics towards the end of last season.” Chambers, who has been with Liverpool’s academy since he was six, played 18 matches for Wigan after joining them in January. Earlier in the season, he also appeared four times for Liverpool’s senior squad. His strong performances have earned him another chance to gain experience in League One. The England U19 player has participated in Liverpool’s pre-season under head coach Arne Slot, appearing in three friendlies. He will now join fellow Liverpool loanee Calvin Ramsay at the Brick Community Stadium, where they both hope to make a significant impact throughout the season.
