JUST IN: Argentina top player set to be the first Liverpool signing

Liverpool is showing interest in 19-year-old South American prospect Julio Soler, who currently plays for Lanus. The club has initiated discussions with Lanus about a possible transfer, intending to bring Soler in as a future successor to Andrew Robertson. Robertson, who has been a key player since his transfer from Hull City, saw a decline in performance last season due to injuries. With Kostas Tsimikas also in the mix, Liverpool aims to bolster their squad for the long term, viewing Soler as a valuable investment. A move to Liverpool could fast-track Soler’s development and offer him a stage to display his skills in Europe, potentially improving his chances of making the national team.

Liverpool’s interest in Soler is part of their strategy to enhance their squad depth and quality, positioning themselves to compete with top Premier League teams like Arsenal and Manchester City. The next few weeks will be critical in deciding whether Liverpool can finalize the deal with Lanus.
