Dani Olmo is nearing the finalization of his move to FC Barcelona. The Spanish international underwent medical assessments on Wednesday morning, and the results were favorable. The process for his transfer has accelerated since Tuesday, when the club outlined the terms for his return from RB Leipzig.
The Euro 2024 champion arrived early on August 7 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for pre-signing physical tests. He initially had a medical check-up, followed by additional examinations at a Barcelona hospital. Despite concerns about his previous injuries, the results were encouraging, leaving only the contract signing to complete.
The official announcement of Olmo joining Hansi Flick’s team is expected soon. He is set to sign a six-year contract, extending to June 2030, and is likely to integrate with the squad next Saturday, following the team’s return from their American tour. FC Barcelona will pay RB Leipzig approximately 62 million euros for Olmo, including 55 million in fixed fees and 7 million in variables.
Olmo’s debut with Barcelona will occur on August 12 during the Joan Gamper Trophy match. The Catalan side will compete against AS Monaco in their season opener, providing the perfect opportunity for Olmo to be introduced to his new supporters at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
