Barcelona have reportedly initiated talks with Dani Olmo’s representatives, who currently plays for RB Leipzig.

As per Spanish outlet Jijantes, discussions took place on Wednesday, with Olmo’s father attending the latter meeting.

Olmo seems ready for a new challenge after more than four years at Leipzig. Although he has not played as much this season, starting only 14 out of 29 Bundesliga games, he has still been effective, with four goals and five assists.

With his experience as a Spain international, Olmo could bring significant value to Barcelona. His potential signing would enhance squad competition, particularly for players like Pedri and Ferran Torres, and could be a suitable replacement for Joao Felix, who is expected to return to Atletico Madrid next summer.

Olmo is reported to have a release clause of €60 million, a sum Barcelona could manage with possible player sales.
