Liverpool supporters have noticed an intriguing new corner kick tactic introduced by Arne Slot during the preseason game against Sevilla.

 

In Slot’s first match at Anfield as Liverpool’s manager on August 11, the team achieved a 4-1 win over the La Liga side. The match featured impressive performances, notably from Luis Diaz, who scored twice, and Diogo Jota and Trey Nyoni, who also scored.

 

Among the notable moments was an unusual corner kick tactic used by Slot. According to journalist Lewis Steele on X, the routine involves the entire team assembling in a tight group near the back corner of the penalty area, on the same side from which the corner is taken.

 

After the corner is delivered, the players quickly disperse and rush into the box, creating a moment of disarray for the opposing defenders. This deliberate confusion aims to leave key attackers unmarked, thereby enhancing the likelihood of a successful header or shot on goal.goal.
