Liverpool is seeking a top-quality right winger to eventually replace Mohamed Salah, and there are reports that Bryan Mbeumo is considering a move to Anfield.
The Cameroonian international has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League with Brentford and is now looking for the next step in his career.
L’Equipe indicates that both Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in acquiring Bryan Mbeumo. The French outlet notes that Mbeumo is enthusiastic about the possibility of joining a club like Liverpool. He mentioned:
“I spent five seasons at Brentford, a club that helped me develop and make significant progress. However, I aspire to compete in top-tier competitions and play for elite clubs. It’s exciting to see some of the major teams showing interest. We’ll see what happens.”
During the 2022-23 season, Mbeumo appeared in every Premier League match and was involved in 17 goals. In the 2023-24 season, despite a three-month absence due to an ankle injury, he made a strong impact when fit, starting 22 games, scoring 9 goals, and providing 6 assists for Brentford under Thomas Frank.
Mbeumo’s contract with Brentford is valid until 2026, and as reported by The Mail, he earns approximately £50,000 per week.
