This Is A Big Setback But We Need To Do What Needs To Be Done,” Slot Has Confirmed That Salah, And Jota Will Miss Liverpool Premier League Clash Against Brentford.

Liverpool resumes their Premier League campaign this afternoon as they welcome Brentford to Anfield. Even though the season is just beginning, the Reds are already dealing with injury issues that could affect their performance.

Arne Slot, who assumed the role of Liverpool’s head coach this summer, will be making his debut in a competitive home match. The team will aim to build on their opening day win against Ipswich Town by securing another three points against Brentford.

However, Slot might have to cope without Jarell Quansah, who sustained an injury earlier in the week. During his press conference on Friday, Slot confirmed that Quansah’s injury has made him a potential absentee for Sunday’s game. Slot described the situation, noting that Quansah’s injury response was as anticipated. “We spoke with him after the match and again on Sunday; he wanted to train,” Slot explained. “But he suffered a minor injury on Tuesday and couldn’t train on Wednesday. We’ll see how he is today [Friday].”

Slot minimized the seriousness of Quansah’s injury but admitted there was some confusion regarding his previous performance. “I don’t believe it’s too severe, but there may have been some miscommunication about what I said,” Slot clarified. “It was suggested that I said he lost every duel, but that’s not what I meant. I mentioned that the team struggled in the first half, not specifically about Jarell.”

It is still unclear if Quansah will be fit for the Brentford match, but Liverpool have other central defensive options such as Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, and Nat Phillips.

Here is the Liverpool squad expected to be available for the Brentford match, barring any last-minute injuries or fitness issues:

**Goalkeepers:** Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher, Vitezslav Jaros

**Defenders:** Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, Nat Phillips

**Midfielders:** Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic, Trey Nyoni

**Forwards:** Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Kaide Gordon, Ben Doak

As Liverpool prepare for their game against Brentford, they must overcome these early-season hurdles to sustain their momentum and continue their strong start in the Premier League.
