Surprising developments regarding Barcelona’s contract with Nico Williams

Barcelona’s management is exploring various strategies to enhance the team’s attack with a significant acquisition during the current summer transfer window. According to Spanish newspaper “Marca,” releasing Ilkay Gundogan, the Barcelona midfielder, would save the club 15 million euros, which is his annual salary.

However, this move alone will not be sufficient to register the new signing Dani Olmo or secure another deal this summer. The report also mentions that Barcelona is nearing an agreement with Nike and is expected to collect 20 million euros outstanding from the Barca Vision deal.

If these financial adjustments are successful, Barcelona will be in a position to target players such as Nico Williams, Federico Chiesa, or Rafael Leao. Notably, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed significant progress in the negotiations for Nico Williams, with Barcelona officials confident of finalizing the signing within the next week, as the Spanish player has agreed to join the club during this transfer window.
