World star contacts Hansi Flick to join Barcelona and compensate for Gundogan’s absence

As the transfer market draws to a close, Barcelona’s activity is intensifying, particularly following the challenging exit of Ilkay Gundogan. Hansi Flick, aware that he is stepping into a project focused on rebuilding, is not exerting excessive pressure but is still navigating numerous potential deals involving new signings and player departures.

Recently, a promising opportunity has emerged for Barcelona to acquire a high-caliber midfielder from Germany, specifically from Bayern Munich. Under the new management of Belgian coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich is undergoing significant changes, including the exclusion of some key players.

According to the Catalan newspaper “Sport,” Hansi Flick acknowledges the need for reinforcements after Gundogan’s departure. While he has confidence in young talents like Casado and Marc Bernal, Flick recognizes the necessity for experienced additions given the demanding season ahead. An appealing option from Bayern Munich is currently under consideration: Leon Goretzka, who has reportedly expressed interest in joining Barcelona, especially in light of Gundogan’s departure, which has created a notable void due to his extensive experience.

Flick, familiar with Goretzka from their time together at Bayern, believes the German midfielder could replicate Gundogan’s impact and is prepared to make a concerted effort to secure his transfer. Goretzka, 28, was recently left out of Kompany’s squad for the last match, and speculation about his departure is intensifying.

Goretzka’s excellent game vision, along with his passing skills, physical strength, endurance, ability to advance into the opponent’s area, defensive capabilities, and tactical acumen, make him a valuable asset. Flick highly values Goretzka’s potential contributions to both defensive and offensive tasks, considering his quality and experience to be crucial for Barcelona.
