Barcelona will ask for at least 80 million euros to sell Frenkie de Jong amid reports that Arsenal is interested in the 26-year-old midfielder.

Barcelona is reportedly seeking a minimum of 80 million euros to part with Frenkie de Jong, amid interest from Arsenal in the 26-year-old midfielder. Both De Jong and Robert Lewandowski might leave the club, with Lewandowski earning a higher salary than De Jong. Although De Jong has expressed satisfaction with his current situation and his passion for playing for Barcelona, the scenario could shift by summer.

Premier League clubs, particularly Arsenal, have shown significant interest. Barcelona has set a price tag of at least €80 million for De Jong, reflecting his crucial role and age. This valuation could appeal to English teams like Arsenal, who may consider making an offer at or near this amount. However, Barcelona has yet to decide whether to offload players such as De Jong, as coach Xavi Hernandez values him highly. De Jong has received an offer from the club but has not yet committed, leaving the door open for a potential sale, which could benefit Premier League clubs interested in him.

Arsenal’s interest in De Jong remains to be fully confirmed. While there are other midfielders Arsenal could target, De Jong is considered a strong option. Although Arsenal has been linked to various holding midfielders, manager Mikel Arteta might opt for De Jong if he seeks a player to anchor his midfield. Jorginho’s contract extension is seen positively, but there is uncertainty about Thomas Partey’s future. Integrating De Jong could enhance Arsenal’s midfield and provide a solid foundation for the future.
