In an interview with The Independent, Slot mentioned, “He has a slight issue with one of his muscles. We’re unsure if tomorrow’s game comes too soon for him. He didn’t feel it during the Milan match, but it worsened afterward. Now, we have to see if he’s ready for the weekend.”
He added, “Alisson is still a doubt, and we’ll have to wait and see if he can train today (Friday).”
This poses a significant challenge for Liverpool, who rely heavily on their goalkeeper. However, second-choice keeper Caoimhin Kelleher has consistently performed well when needed and is expected to fill in for Alisson.
Liverpool regained their form and confidence midweek with a solid win against AC Milan in the Champions League, helping to restore their momentum after the loss to Forest.
Their ability to create opportunities and find the net suggests that the defeat was likely an anomaly.
While Slot has mostly enjoyed a fully fit squad this season, injuries to Harvey Elliott and now Alisson present new challenges ahead of the match against Bournemouth.
