Darwin Nunez’s future at Liverpool is uncertain following today’s announcement.

Liverpool is reportedly among several clubs interested in potentially signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, as questions arise about Darwin Nunez’s future at Anfield.

Gyokeres has begun the season strongly, following an impressive debut year with Sporting, making a significant transfer seem probable soon.

Recent reports from CaughtOffside indicate that Chelsea is also interested in Gyokeres, though he is not their primary target, as they explore options like Victor Osimhen.

Liverpool, considering this season vital for Nunez, has identified Gyokeres as a potential replacement, according to Team Talk.

Regarded as a well-rounded forward, Gyokeres could greatly enhance Arne Slot’s squad, especially given Nunez’s inconsistency in finishing despite moments of brilliance.

Slot might have recognized this as a shortfall in the team he took over from Jurgen Klopp, making Gyokeres an appealing upgrade.

Team Talk also notes that other prominent clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham are interested in the 26-year-old, indicating that securing him could prove difficult.

Gyokeres boasts an impressive tally of 54 goals in 58 matches for Sporting, including 11 goals in 8 games this season, and he recently scored three times in two international matches for Sweden.
