Liverpool’s board has begun to show significant interest in acquiring Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian forward is off to an impressive start this season, having scored nine goals and provided six assists in nine matches across all competitions for Frankfurt.
The Reds’ most recent signing was Federico Chiesa, who joined in August but has only played in two games under Arne Slot since his arrival. Chiesa made his debut late in a 3-0 Premier League victory against Bournemouth, where he only participated for 19 minutes.
This signing has not satisfied Liverpool’s fans, who anticipated more additions to the squad. In contrast to other Premier League teams that made numerous signings, Liverpool’s board determined that Chiesa’s acquisition would suffice, despite the appointment of a new manager.
Mohamed Salah’s situation at the club has intensified the board’s search for a potential replacement who could match the Egyptian’s capabilities. The 25-year-old joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2023/24 season and netted 12 goals in 29 appearances for the German team.
The club values him at approximately £33 million and hopes he will remain longer, but competition from other European clubs poses a challenge for Eintracht’s board in securing a contract extension.
In a recent 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich, the Egyptian scored twice and assisted once, earning a point for Eintracht Frankfurt, which now sits third in the Bundesliga standings.
Given this performance, the player has gained recognition among football fans, and serious interest in his signing is likely to emerge soon. Reports suggest that the club has already proposed a contract extension to Marmoush, but he remains uncertain amid Liverpool’s interest in bringing him to Anfield.
