Thiago explains the reason of Gravenberch’s shining under Arne Slot

Ryan Gravenberch is demonstrating his true talent and potential in recent Liverpool matches in both the Premier League and Champions League.

His performances under the new Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, have significantly improved, establishing him as a key player for the Reds.

In the recent clash against AC Milan in the Champions League, Gravenberch dominated the midfield and earned the Player of the Match award. Conversely, the league match did not go as planned for the Dutch manager; despite the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Gravenberch was one of the standout performers. Former Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara recognized the Dutchman’s excellent form and shared his thoughts with the press. Although they never played together in matches, they trained together during the previous season before Thiago left the club and retired.

Thiago attended the recent league match against Nottingham Forest from the stands at Anfield, but unfortunately, the Reds did not deliver the performance he hoped to see.

In his media remarks, Alcantara noted that many talented players must first adapt to their teams to realize their full potential, which is what Gravenberch is currently experiencing after struggling to fit into Jurgen Klopp’s system in his first season.

He mentioned that the number 6 position is particularly challenging, but Ryan is improving and adjusting well. Having talented midfielders like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai alongside him is a significant advantage for Gravenberch, according to his former teammate. Being around such skilled players enhances Gravenberch’s performance, Alcantara stated.

It’s unfortunate to see a talent like Thiago retire prematurely due to serious injuries in the latter part of his career. He would have thrived in Arne Slot’s system, which emphasizes possession and aligns with Liverpool’s current playing style.

Regarding the new era for the Reds, Thiago commended the Dutch manager, noting that many fans anticipated underperformance, but Arne Slot is consistently improving the team with each match.
