A viral video has surfaced showing Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reacting angrily to a fan in Manchester city center. The 24-second clip captures a tense moment between Guardiola and a man who appeared to taunt him after a City loss.
Guardiola, accompanied by his son Marius and another individual, was walking past when the man, with a Scouse accent, mocked him. Guardiola stopped, turned, and approached the man but was held back by his son and the other man.
As Guardiola moved away, he responded to the man’s comment. Another man holding a pen and book clarified that he didn’t say anything, and the man recording the video tried to de-escalate the situation.
Although the clip was widely shared on Friday, it was reportedly filmed in May after Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup final. Guardiola’s outfit in the video matches what he wore at Wembley for that match.
Manchester City has since bounced back, ending their winless streak with a 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest. The team is currently fourth in the Premier League, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
