Arne Slot provides his perspective on Milos Kerkez and talks about the possibility of him being a target for Liverpool.

Liverpool claimed a hard-earned win against Bournemouth on Saturday, securing three crucial points in the Premier League.

The Reds were aware that the match at the Vitality Stadium would be tough, particularly after Bournemouth scored nine goals in their last two games.

A key figure in Bournemouth’s recent success has been left-back Milos Kerkez, who is reportedly being considered by Liverpool.

Kerkez has emerged as a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson at Liverpool.

The match on Saturday offered the Reds a chance to observe the Hungarian player as he faced off against Mohamed Salah on Liverpool’s right wing.

Although Salah ultimately made the decisive contribution, this didn’t overshadow Kerkez’s overall performance. After watching the 21-year-old from the sidelines, Arne Slot was asked directly if Kerkez is now on the transfer radar.

Arne Slot addresses the transfer rumors surrounding Milos Kerkez

Kerkez has arguably been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League this season.

However, the Hungarian recently played down the possibility of joining Liverpool, stating on his YouTube live stream that he won’t be making the move.

Even so, rumors are likely to continue, and Slot may have fueled speculation in his post-match press conference by praising the young defender.

“I think it’s clear that this team has many strengths, but their left-back is definitely a major threat going forward, and while Mo Salah is a fantastic player, his main strength isn’t tracking the opposing full-back!” Slot commented with a smile.

When asked directly if Kerkez is a player Liverpool will target in the summer, Slot maintained a neutral stance.

“I believe it’s unnecessary to talk about players we are interested in, particularly when discussing someone who is having such a strong season, like many others,” he said.

How did Kerkez perform against Liverpool?

Slot wasn’t the only one with connections to Liverpool keeping a close eye on Kerkez on Saturday.

The former AZ Alkmaar player seems to be a strong candidate for a summer move to Anfield, and for good reason.

While he showed promise in certain moments against Salah on Saturday, Kerkez ultimately struggled to fully contain Liverpool’s key player.

He is not the first to face difficulty in this regard over the years, but the expectations at Liverpool are extremely high, and based on this performance, it remains unclear if Kerkez meets those standards.

Nevertheless, he has had an excellent season, and considering his age, he is likely to keep improving. He is certainly a player to watch closely.
