Watching some a great player leave your Club is not an easy choice,I felt emotional when He told me He wants to leave”, Club president burst out in tears as His key player announced departure to join Man United this week

Even if Frenkie de Jong were to transfer to Manchester United this summer, it would require a significant financial investment from his side. However, the Dutch midfielder has not shown genuine interest in moving to Old Trafford.

Despite De Jong’s lack of enthusiasm, Manchester United remains resolute in their pursuit. Reports from SPORT indicate that the Red Devils are committed to completing his transfer from Barcelona before the deadline, even though he is currently dealing with an injury.

Manchester United, having already acquired players like Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, is reportedly keen to add De Jong to their roster. Catalan media suggests that manager Erik ten Hag is keen on reuniting some of the key figures from the 2019 Ajax team that made a notable run to the Champions League semifinals.

De Jong’s situation at Barcelona is still unclear, with ongoing issues from a long-term injury and slow progress in his recovery. SPORT reports that Barcelona might consider selling him for around £51.4 million (€60 million).

At 27, this summer might be Manchester United’s best chance to secure De Jong. If they don’t succeed now, it may be time for them to abandon their pursuit.

Additionally, with the rise of young talent like Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United’s need for a player of De Jong’s style may have lessened. The team might benefit more from a defensive-minded midfielder who specializes in disrupting play and tackling.
