Huge Liverpool legend prepared to upset Anfield faithful by securing Mo Salah this summer

Steven Gerrard, the legendary Liverpool player, is willing to risk angering the club’s supporters by attempting to sign Mo Salah on a free transfer for Al Ettifaq. Although Al Ettifaq is not one of the top four teams in the Saudi Pro League, their connection to Liverpool makes them a key player in the ongoing Salah transfer situation.

Currently in 11th place in the Saudi league, 22 points behind leaders Al Hilal, Al Ettifaq’s need for a proven striker is clear. They are reportedly in the running to sign Salah once his Liverpool contract expires at the end of the season, with sources close to the club suggesting they plan to acquire him without a transfer fee.

Despite interest from other Saudi clubs like Al Ittihad and Al Hilal, as well as European clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus, Al Ettifaq are considered the favorites. The club is reportedly focused on structuring its future around securing Salah for free, especially with the 2026 World Cup in mind, which could make the move highly attractive to the Egyptian forward.

While Salah is still contracted to Liverpool, and the club holds the upper hand for now, it appears they haven’t made a strong push to retain him, especially after rejecting a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad.
