Frenkie De Jong seriously wanted by Al Ittihad – reports

As per Relevo, Al Ittihad’s interest in Frenkie De Jong is legitimate, with the Saudi club’s sporting director, Ramón Planes, spearheading the effort.

Planes, who was pivotal in bringing De Jong to Barcelona in 2019, is now keen on reuniting with the Dutch midfielder at Al Ittihad. It’s also worth noting that he played an important role in signing Pedri during the same transfer window.

This would not be Planes’ first successful transaction with Barcelona, as he previously helped facilitate Unai Hernández’s move to Al Ittihad before the January transfer window deadline.

De Jong Focused on Barcelona Future

Despite Al Ittihad’s strong interest, reports indicate that De Jong is willing to discuss a contract extension with Barcelona. The midfielder has continually expressed his wish to remain at Camp Nou, making any potential transfer a complicated negotiation.

With both Barcelona and De Jong eager to continue their collaboration, it remains to be seen whether Al Ittihad can sway him or if he will decide to stay with the Blaugrana.
