In an exciting Coppa Italia quarter-final, AC Milan triumphed 3-1 over AS Roma, marking Kyle Walker’s first win with the Rossoneri since his loan from Manchester City. The match highlighted the team’s resilience and determination, with Walker playing a crucial role in keeping the focus and discipline on the field.

Tammy Abraham, also on loan but from Roma, stood out by scoring two goals in the first half against his parent club. Despite the boos from the Roma fans, Abraham chose not to celebrate his goals, later stating that the crowd’s reaction left him feeling ‘hurt.’

Walker’s leadership was clear throughout the match. At halftime, with Milan leading 2-0, he urged his teammates, “It’s 0-0, we keep going,” stressing the importance of maintaining the momentum and avoiding complacency. Although Roma pulled one back early in the second half, substitute João Félix quickly restored Milan’s two-goal lead shortly after entering the game.

This victory sends AC Milan into the Coppa Italia semi-finals, bringing them closer to their first title in the competition since 2003. The team now shifts focus to their next Serie A match against Empoli, as they aim to build on this momentum.

Reflecting on his move to Milan, Walker expressed his excitement during his press conference: “Playing for Milan is fantastic. It’s a great opportunity for my career to try something new. I saw this as a perfect chance to come here and showcase my talent.”

He also emphasized his role as a leader, saying, “With my age and experience, that’s what I’m here for. There’s a lack of confidence linked to the results. I think the new coach has a good plan. Now discipline is essential. That’s my role, which extends beyond just the pitch. I’ve won a lot and bring that experience with me.”

As AC Milan continues their campaign, the addition of experienced players like Walker is expected to enhance the squad’s confidence and performance in both domestic and European competitions.
