With every day that goes by, it seems like Kylian Mbappe is getting closer to joining Real Madrid. The forward just ended his time at Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe hosted a dinner on Monday night for 250 guests as a farewell to Paris. It was thought to be one of his final appearances in public before he departs the French city the following summer.

Several important members of Mbappe’s family and entourage attended the dinner in Paris, including Fayza Lamari, the player’s mother. This summer, Mbappe’s mother was actually on the verge of disclosing the player’s future, giving the strongest indication yet that he would join Real Madrid. Reporters badgered Fayza when she left the restaurant, asking the most important question of all: where will Mbappe be spending the summer?
Mbappe’s mother cleverly answered the queries, saying, “I think you already know that, right?” (h/t Mundo Deportivo). This is the most significant clue about Mbappe’s future that Real Madrid supporters have heard thus far.
However, Fayza did attempt to retract her remarks, maybe after realizing that she had shared more information than was appropriate. Soon after, she said, “To be honest, I don’t know, I don’t know anything at all.” However, it looks like Real Madrid will be able to sign Mbappe this summer on a free transfer. Florentino Perez, the club president, is currently in Paris and will shortly complete the contract, which may be for a period of five years.
