Real Madrid young duo will see an increase in game-time after Toni Kroos’ exit

Toni Kroos, one of the finest players to ever wear the jersey, will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. The midfield veteran stated earlier today that he will retire from football at the end of the UEFA Euro 2024, leaving him with only two games remaining as a Los Blancos player.

Despite his old age, Kroos will be sorely missed by Carlo Ancelotti and his team next season.

More minutes forCamavinga and Guler.

However, according to MARCA (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid do not aim to sign a new midfielder to replace Kroos this summer. Instead, the young duo of Arda Guler and Eduardo Camavinga will have greater minutes in the upcoming campaign now that the old icon has stood down.

Camavinga has not started many games while Real Madrid has had a completely fit midfield this season, as Ancelotti has frequently favored the trio of Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Toni Kroos to start. However, after Kroos departs, Camavinga should be given more opportunities, while Guler, who has demonstrated his talent in recent weeks, should also see more minutes in the future season. Not long ago, it was expected that Kroos will sign a new deal and stay for another season alongside his partner in crime, Luka Modric.

However, the German icon has decided that it is time to retire, allowing new players like Camavinga and Guler to play more.
