Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Rodrygo Goes is nearing a move to Liverpool FC. The Real Madrid star is in official talks with Liverpool after expressing his intention to leave Real Madrid, stating his preference for the Premier League. Liverpool is making significant efforts to secure his signing, positioning themselves as strong contenders over Manchester City. Liverpool’s consistent interest and Manchester City’s tough negotiating tactics, considered “counterproductive,” give Liverpool the edge in securing Rodrygo’s signature.

Rodrygo plans to stay with Real Madrid beyond this season despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.

Recent speculation about the Brazilian winger’s future arose due to the anticipated arrival of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, which might reduce Rodrygo’s playing time.

Some suggested that the 23-year-old might leave to help Real Madrid raise funds. Mundo Deportivo reported Liverpool as leading the race for Rodrygo, given Mohamed Salah’s contract ending in 2025, while Marca linked Manchester City to him as well.

However, ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, Fabrizio Romano updated that Rodrygo intends to remain with the La Liga champions, believing Real Madrid offers the best technical project.

Rodrygo, a key player under Carlo Ancelotti, is confident he will continue to play a significant role next season despite Mbappe’s arrival.
