UEFA’s decision to ban Manchester United and Manchester City from the Europa League and UCL.
The UK Times says that UEFA will allow Manchester United and Manchester City to compete in the same European events as their sister clubs this season.
The verdict is scheduled to be issued on Monday by UEFA’s Club Financial Control Board (CFCB), subject to certain circumstances.
The present regulations state that no team can compete in the same competition as another club that shares ownership.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns Ligue 1 team Nice, who qualified for the Europa League this season, as well as Manchester United, in which he has a minority ownership.
Girona, part of the City Football Group, finished third in LaLiga this season and qualified for the Champions League alongside Manchester City.
However, UEFA will allow both Manchester sides to play with their sister clubs in Europe next season, as long as Nice and Girona operate under a “blind trust”.
