Real Madrid have recently renewed their pursuit of Alphonso Davies, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Following the conclusion of a lengthy two-year saga with the signing of Kylian Mbappe from PSG, Real Madrid are now focusing on their next significant moves.
Despite being satisfied with their current squad, which achieved a LaLiga and Champions League double, Real Madrid still have ambitious plans for the summer transfer window. Carlo Ancelotti, Florentino Perez, and their team are actively working on securing further reinforcements.
With captain Nacho set to leave the club after more than 20 years, Real Madrid are aiming to bring in Lille’s young star Leny Yoro. Alongside this, they remain keen on acquiring Alphonso Davies.
Interest in Davies had waned in recent months due to Real Madrid’s focus on Yoro, the final stages of the Mbappe deal, and the end of the season. However, Real Madrid have now resumed their efforts with renewed enthusiasm.
According to Romano, the LaLiga champions have re-established contact with Davies’ representatives this week regarding a potential summer transfer. Real Madrid’s stance remains unchanged: they will only sign the Canadian on their terms, refusing to pay €50 million or more for the left-back. Davies, meanwhile, has not yet decided on his future.
Bayern Munich’s contract offer for Davies is still available, and with Vincent Kompany’s recent appointment, an extension seems more likely. However, Davies has not yet communicated his final decision. The relationship between Davies and Bayern had soured in the spring due to an ultimatum from the club regarding his contract extension. This deadline has passed, and talks have stalled. If Davies does not accept the new deal, Bayern are expected to sell him this summer.
