The club has seen only three significant departures—Marc Guiu moving to Chelsea, Sergino Dest to PSV, and Marcos Alonso leaving after his contract ended—while there have been no new signings due to the league’s implementation of the 1:1 rule.
Barcelona aims to increase their signing tally from zero to one shortly. Reports suggest that deals for Dani Olmo and Nico Williams are progressing well, and it is expected that one of these deals will be finalized by the end of next week.
Williams is the more probable candidate to join first. Negotiations for personal terms are underway, and Barcelona intends to activate his release clause as soon as they get his approval. They have also made an offer to Olmo’s representatives.
Although Barcelona is eager to secure either player, their financial constraints make it a challenging task. Adhering to the 1:1 rule in La Liga is only part of the challenge.
