Press sources have disclosed that Arsenal is nearing the completion of a deal for one of Barcelona’s primary targets this summer. The Gunners aim to enhance their squad with a key addition, in line with the preferences of their head coach, Mikel Arteta.
According to trusted transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal is on the verge of finalizing a deal for Mikel Merino, the Real Sociedad midfielder. The report states that an agreement has been made with Merino for his transfer, which will involve a fee of 30 million euros plus additional costs. Final details of the transfer are still pending. Previously, Merino was also a target for Barcelona to bolster their squad.
