Barcelona has put forward a proposal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong following the request of their new coach, Hansi Flick. SPORT reports that the offer is below the 50 million euros Transfermarkt values him at, but Leverkusen might be open to negotiating player exchanges. Frimpong recently had a standout season.
Frimpong has become a target for Barcelona due to Flick’s interest. While Flick, who is well-versed in German football, seems to favor Frimpong, SPORT notes that Barcelona’s current financial difficulties might explain their lower offer and whether they will pursue other targets is still uncertain.
Originally from Amsterdam, Frimpong joined Manchester City at nine and spent nearly ten years in their youth system. After making a mark at Celtic, he has thrived as an attacking full-back under Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen, ending the 2023/2024 season with 14 goals and 12 assists, contributing significantly to their Bundesliga campaign.
