Manchester United equalized in the 60th minute thanks to Amad Diallo, who was set up by Noussair Mazraoui. Garnacho entered the match in the 65th minute as a substitute for Marcus Rashford and scored in the 72nd minute, but the goal was ruled out by VAR due to an offside by Joshua Zirkzee. João Pedro then scored the decisive goal for Brighton in the 95th minute.

Following the game, Garnacho shared an Instagram story featuring a picture from the match and the caption, “God has something planned for me, trust the process,” reflecting on their first Premier League defeat of the season.

Currently, Manchester United sits in 11th place in the Premier League with three points from two matches after their loss to Brighton.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag also spoke about Alejandro Garnacho before their latest Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion. The manager noted Garnacho’s potential to become a top player, stating (via GOAL):
